The installation refers to my own politics/ internal affairs. In a space where there is no father, the tv takes on the role of guiding the young mind. The structure of the room divider mimics unconventional family structures that stand strong regardless of the absence of some members. In the top section there’s a photo of my grandmother, a matriarch. To the right is a photo of my mother and my self. Below that is a wooden dog that I carved with my father in mind; his absence led to him being referred to as ‘leyanja’. He is placed next to the tv, the new father.
