The Pigging Out installation was part of my Art school second year end of the year exhibition. the core of the installation is the obese man laying on the giant burger; the man and the piglets are made out of cement and burger is made out of real food products. The man is laying on the burger, watching TV while piglets are popping out of his buttocks. The content that is shown on the TV screen highlights the effect of food adverts and how fatty foods are glamorized by the employment of people who don’t suffer the effects of the over consumption of fast foods. The man on the burger is a block of reality; eating too much fatty foods will eventually alter the shape of your body. Obese people are sometimes likened to fat pigs because of their eating habits that have them looking round in shape- eating too much is referred to as pigging out.
The second part of the installation is a drawing made up of tiny piglets and real food products.
